Just wanted to reiterate the amazing job done by all this past Saturday. It ended up a truly remarkable day and we owe it all to our athletes who came and conquered one of the tougher WOD’s out there. Thank you again.
Our final tally was impressive as well. As a gym, we collectively raised 6,540.56 dollars for two fantastic causes. Given the number of athletes participating and the size of our gym… that is an amazing feat and all of you should be proud. We know we are.
On an unrelated note. I’ll be out of the gym this week on vacation, so if anybody is trying to reach me via email/text/phone call and I don’t answer… its not cause I don’t love you.. I do.. I”m just in the middle of the woods with no cell phone or computer. Just like a vacation should be. Don’t worry though… Kathy will still be around to kick your butts into gear. Enjoy this week of workouts. It should be fun!

FGB – Update
The forecast looks like it’s going to be a perfect day to hold FBG outside with a BBQ after for all participating and watching!
It is going to be a little cooler than normal…that being said, you’ll be very thankful. ![]()
It would be pretty neat if all could wear their CrossFit Reclamation
t-shirts…coming together as a community…as a family that we’ve become over these wonderful three months.
It’s going to be a day like no other, one that you will remember in it’s own special way.
Thank you for all participating. You make us proud each and every day.
And…
In order to prep for FGB and the bbq on Saturday, we will be closing at 4:30 on Friday. Please make plans accordingly if you want to get in for a wod on Friday. Thanks!!

So here we are. Sixty five hours from a seemingly insignificant event. How could 17 minutes on a Saturday in September really matter? On the grand scale of things.. we’re only a handful of people in a world of several billion. One gym in several hundred. Yet despite the age of our gym, the experience of our athletes, here we sit, poised on the cusp of something indescribable. Something most just don’t understand. Unless one has passed that brink, through that voice that screams stop and beyond the every threshold known.. one don’t understand what it is to give all.
You do.
We’ve watched all of you come in and slug away at everything we thrown at you and come out on top. Every time. Remember this when you’re lying on the ground.. in between rounds two and three, and the last thing you want to do is get up and do it one more time. You’ve been here before. You’ve felt this pain before… and you stood up and smacked it in the face. If you’ve done it once, you can do it again.
So, ultimately this Saturday in September might not mean much to the world. How could 17 minutes really matter after all? Well.. for us? We know. To us.. it means the world.
As a gym we’ve raised almost 5,000 dollars towards the futures of some very deserving children. In a time of need, a community is not a community if it can’t be counted on. When we asked.. all of you answered. Thank you.

We apologize for the short notice, but we’ll be doing another Pose Method of Running Clinic this Saturday starting at 10am. We’ll also be opening at 9 instead of 8am, have an hour of open gym and then begin the pose clinic. If you’re trying out some new minimalist shoes..experiencing any leg or lower back pain, then make an effort to be there. Remember, efficiency is the name of the game. If you can run with efficiency.. you can run faster and longer, its’ basic physics.
Whilst on the subject of Pose, start looking around the gym for information regarding our Pose/Barefoot Running Clinic on the 15th of October. Vivobarefoot running coach and Pose Method Coach Drew Wallace of Upstream Fitness in Boston will be the main instructor. Cost will be 80 dollars per participant with a max number of 12 people. If you truly want to improve your running.. this is gonna help!
This Sunday will mark the 10 year anniversary of one of our nations greatest tragedies. In a small effort to commemorate the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 we’ll be doing a Hero workout both tomorrow and Monday. These workouts will be hard and will humble you… thats the intent. Trust us… the pain will end and you’ll be better for it. For those who don’t know, there are a series of Hero WOD’s, named in honor of the soldiers, police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty, protecting our way of life. Tomorrow’s WOD is one in a long list of individuals who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice, who have given all.
So when you’re almost done, there is a little time left on the clock… and everything in your body and mind tells you to quit…take a deep breath.. smile.. and give it your all.. the CrossFit way.
In honor of Army Special Forces
Sergeant Jack M. Martin III, 26,
who was killed September 29, 2009
